We are very excited to announce that the Young Company Theatre Camp has moved to the campus of Oklahoma City University! This move is not only a gesture of our new alliance with OCU, it is also a move closer to our home at the Downtown Water Stage.

Young Company Theatre CampThe Young Company Theatre Camp (YCTC) is an exciting and innovative program for artistic teens looking to supplement their training in the theatre arts.

At YCTC, we invite some of the metro’s finest artists and educators to lead workshops and direct performances. Every camper will grow as an artist and develop their networking skills by interfacing with these artist-educators.

Young Company Theatre CampYCTC is not for the faint of heart. With a rigorous schedule of lectures, workshops, and rehearsals, campers will address a variety of disciplines including: acting, stage combat, improv, stage management, movement techniques, performance theory, vocal work, and script analysis. As always, at Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park, Shakespeare is the fertile ground on which we confront these aspects of our discipline.

YCTC culminates in a couple of major performances. These performances serve as pre-show productions for the OSP company’s main stage production.

At the end of the first week of camp, the campers will perform in a scene showcase; and at the end of week two, they will stage a Shakespeare production. In the past, we have staged Taming of the Shrew, Julius Caesar, Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, and many more. This year, we will stage Romeo and Juliet (during session 1) and All’s Well that Ends Well (during session 2).
