The end is near for Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park’s Summer Season
Patrons have two weekends left to see group at new venue
OKLAHOMA CITY – The end is near for Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park’s Inaugural Summer Season in downtown Oklahoma City, and patrons are encouraged to avoid sell-out situations and reserve or purchase tickets in advance.
Impacted by unprecedented rainfall but offset by sell-out crowds, the theatre company’s inaugural summer season at the Myriad Gardens’ Water Stage has been wonderfully packed full of theatre-goers.
“The move to downtown Oklahoma City has been a tremendous success, and we want to make sure to accommodate all of our patrons,” said David Holt, Board president.
Tickets may be reserved or purchased in advance by calling 405-235-3700 during regular business hours and are available at the box office during the nights of the performances beginning at 7 p.m.
The Myriad Gardens Foundation earlier this year launched a $1.9 million capital campaign to renovate the stage and has announced major contributions from groups such as Inasmuch Foundation and Devon Energy.
The classical theatre’s summer season runs through Sept. 1 and follows a repertoire style, including productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cyrano de Bergerac and Macbeth. Remaining production dates for shows are as follows:
- Macbeth – Aug. 23-25 and Sept. 1.
- A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Aug. 30.
- Cyrano de Bergerac –Aug. 31.
Summer season tickets are $25; single summer season admission tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, senior citizens and children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the box office on the night of performance beginning at 7 p.m. and all performances begin at 8 p.m. Group rates are available for 10 or more.
