OSP announces The Second Annual Young Directors' Series for 2006, which is a special scholarship program to promote and educate aspiring theatrical artists in our community. This grant, of approximately $1,500 will provide funding for a full production to be staged by a promising director under the artistic and budgetary mentorship of the OSP artistic staff. The Young Directors’ Series is a special scholarship program developed by Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park to promote and educate aspiring theatrical artists in our community. This grant, of approximately $1,500.00 will provide funding for a full production to be staged by a promising director under the artistic and budgetary mentorship of the OSP artistic staff.

The recipient of this scholarship is responsible for finding a production team to promote, design and produce a show fitting the classical mission of OSP All proceeds from the production are mandated for the funding of the next year’s scholarship.

  2. A brief essay detailing why you believe you should be awarded this scholarship.
  3. You should also designate the play you are proposing for consideration and a brief production concept statement, not to exceed 500 words.

The young D’Artagnan arrives in Paris with dreams of becoming a Musketeer. He encounters adventure, villains, intrigue and romance as he proves himself worthy of the title Musketeer. The three inseparables, the Musketeers of the title, Athos, Aramis, and Porthos befriend the young swordsman and together they save the honor of the Queen.

The wicked and deformed Richard whose military prowess has helped his brother Edward to the throne, now plots to take the crown for himself. He creates a calculated plot using treachery, manipulation and murder to achieve his goal and removes all who stand in his way.
