Welcome to our Web site!

For whatever your interest in Shakespeare is - the theatre, the park and/or Shakespeare in the Park, we welcome you and encourage you to look closer… for we have a story to tell.

What a journey the last twenty-three years have been! From several locations and three different stages in Edmond’s Hafer Park onto the past two years at UCO’s Plunkett Park, we’ve moved again. And we could not be more excited. Whether you’ve loyally tracked our peripatetic journeys or never been to a single one of our productions, we hope you’ll consider joining us this summer. Our season is spiced by the always-exciting Cyrano de Bergerac, along with two of Shakespeare’s blockbusters, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth This summer we return to these classics with renewed vigor and insight, for the world has greatly changed since we last visited them.

For those of you who have followed us through the years, and indeed you have had to run to keep up with our “movable festival”, we encourage you to make the effort to join us again. “Our travels now have ended!” - for a while, at least! We promise you will enjoy the visit.

We are especially excited to begin our first summer season at the beautiful Myriad Botanical Gardens Water Stage, in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. There will be some changes… We have traded picnic blankets and lawn chairs for outdoor theater seating. However, for those of you who miss the picnicking, we offer “Saturday in the Park with Will” - a chance to picnic on the lawn surrounding the lovely plaza, just above the Water Stage, and be entertained by actors, dancers and musicians starting at 7:00 pm each Saturday night, one hour before the production.

We also now offer special repertory weekends, which allow patrons to see two different shows in one weekend, and on Labor Day weekend, you’ll get the chance to see all three!

You will notice many changes for the better in our acoustics and creature comforts. And the changes will continue into the next year. More seating and cooling awnings over the audience are to follow next summer!

So join us June 14th through September 1st for a summer of “Shakespeare in the City.” We promise in return a special evening, and some of the very best classical theatre in the nation.

See you in the theatre! Prepare Ye for a Lark!

David Holt, OSP Board PresidentSincerely,

Co-Founder, Artistic Director
